WAVENY DISC GOLF
FAQ
What is the terrain of the Course like?
The Course is on land that slopes away from Lapham Road toward Route 106 and the New Canaan line of the Metro-North Railroad. About half the holes have have some meaningful amount of elevation change. Although the land is generally wooded, most of the fairways are at least somewhat open. Wooden bridges have been installed over the stream gullies and a wooden walkway installed over a swampy area between holes.
What are the tees like?
As of July 2025, 17 of the 18 Blue Tees have been converted to turf tees. The remaining Blue Tee (Hole 2) and all of the White and Red Tees are still "natural" aka dirt. It is expected that the remaining Blue Tee and all of the White Tees will be converted to turf tees by sometime in 2026.
Do holes have multiple tees or baskets?
Each hole has separate Blue, White and Red Tees, which are indicated by stakes by the tees with blue, white or red paint on them. The Blue Tees are longer and more challenging than the White Tees, and the White Tees are longer and more challenging than the Red Tees. The Blue course plays par for a low 900-rated player; the White course plays par for a low 800-rated player; the Red course is intended for youth and novice players, but can also be used by more advanced players as a fun pitch-and-putt course. Each hole has only one basket.
What kind of baskets does the Course have?
Discraft Chainstar.
Are there tee times or reservations?
No. Just show up and play.
Does the Course have discs available to use/rent?
No. You need to bring your own discs.
Where can I park? Is parking free?
You can park for free in the parking lot across the street from the entrance to the Course, between the Steve Benko Pool and the Waveny Park paddle tennis courts. If you drive in the Steve Benko Pool entrace from Lapham Road, the parking lot is on our right.
